Working as an Assistant Manager for a fortune 500 company has been very rewarding. I first started working as a Management/Sales Trainee, where they took the time to teach me everything there needs to know about paint. Whether its application, product knowledge, color selection, operations, etc.; it was all essential to learn before becoming an official Assistant Manager.
As part of the training process, I traveled from store to store in the Richmond District to learn different management styles in order to develop my own methods. Since a majority of customers are painting professionals, I have to build relationships with existing and new customers in order to seem capable and trustworthy. In addition, I aid homeowners with color and product selection based on their needs and vision for their projects. Overall both of these target customers seek professional guidance with their projects, and come to Sherwin-Williams for the trademark service and painting expertise. After a long three months, I was placed at my very own store, where I have been learning daily store operations such as merchandising, inventory management, filing, customer service, etc.
