While at VCU, I was able to enhance my event planning skills through various projects and events. I was selected to take part in coordinating the Dover Hall Bridal Fashion Show along with eleven other students. The fashion merchandising department was asked to coordinator this first time event at the Dover Hall Estate located in Goochland, Virginia. We contacted local bridal shops in the Richmond, Area to showcase their bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses such as Hitched, Bella Bridesmaids, Urban Set, and Sealed with a Kiss. Even showcased mother of the bride dresses and flower girl dresses from Monkees.

For this event, I was part of the logistics committee which consisted of writing commentary, recruiting volunteers, selecting music, creating programs/flyers, gathering supplies, etc. To promote the event, we created our own flyers, E invites, social media content, etc. Overall the show was a success, and I was able to use those organizational skills I learned for two other fashion shows at VCU, including VCU's Annual Fashion Show and Cotton Inc. Fashion Show.
